The Art of Impressing Women - Proven Techniques on How to Attract and Impress Women

By James Brito Its easy for us men to think that women wont go for us unless we have a special talent. But as Erika Jong said, “Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.” Its true: we all have talents. Think for a moment about a talent you may have. It could be anything: You know how to play billiards really well You can speak a foreign language (even if not fluently) You know how to fix cars You know some magic tricks You can do really good impersonations You know how to play an instrument Youre really good at your job You can cook a great plate of lasagna (or any dish, for that matter) Dont discount anything. In my audio series, “The Art of Impressing Women,” I detail some great ways to impress women, and one of the most important ways to doing this is to not only have, but DISPLAY, a talentno matter how marginal it may seem. One of my favorite “guy” movies is “The Tao of Steve,” which shows how Dex, a fat guy with no aspirations, easily gets hot, gorgeous women. How? Simply by following the 3 rules of the Tao. They are: Eliminate your desires. Do something excellent in her presence, thereby proving your sexual worthiness. Retreat, for as Heidegger said, “We pursue that which retreats from us.” Or, to put it more simply: Be desireless Be excellent Be gone Dexs talent was that he knew how to cook a really mean lobster dish; thus, he fulfilled the second rule. He knew one thing, and he did it well. In the process, he followed the first and third rules of the Tao by not being overly eager to impress the girl and get her phone number, and just after he impressed the girl with his talent, he would be gone. After cooking for her, he would say, “Well, I gotta get ready for bed.” She would beg him not to go, thus de-powering herself and em-powering Dex. And he would say, “Well, I guess I could stay a little longer.” And you can guess where it went from there So, like Dex, you should aim to be excellent at something, all while “holding the cards” to a womans heart. Does that mean you have to know how to cook gourmet meals or buld your own motorcycles from scratch (a la American Choppers)? Hell no! It simply means you have to find within yourself that one talent, that one skill, that separates yourself from the rest of the male packand use it to your every advantage. Ill give you an example of how to do this. His names Jared, and hes not the most talented person in the world. Like Dex, hes not exactly a man on a mission; he plays lots of video games and watches lots of TV. Yet somehow hes never lacking for female companionship. Why? Because when he goes out and meets girls, he does something that amazes them: hes taught himself (proving that great talent does not have to come naturally) some really impressive card tricks. Thats it. Jareds not an athlete, hes not a gourmet cook, hes not a guitar player. He just taught himself how to do some cool magic tricks, and does them so well that girls are naturally attracted to him. It works! But does Jared go out of his way to show off his skill? NO. Actually, what Jared does is act really easy, really casual, ask the girl lots of questions about herself (first rule of the Tao: be desireless), then wait til theres a pause in the conversation to ask, “Hey, you wanna see something cool?” The girl will say yes, and hell tease her: “Oh, too bad. Youll have to wait til later.” This is what I call “curiosity building,” and its a proven girl getter. Stimulate her curiosity, hold her at bay, and shell not only become more curious in your talent, but more interested in you. So Jared will string the girl along for a while, then say, “Fine! Fine! Ill show you the stupid trick,” with a grin. This changes the game so that the girl has become the chaser, Jared the chased, and he is able to “placate” her with his trick. What Jared does, in essence, is follow the first rule of the Tao to the T: he acts truly desireless. He turns the tables on girls so that THEY seem like the ones filled with desire, not him. In making them more desirous than him, he becomes more empowered and, of course, more attractive. Its truly brilliant stuff. On top of that, once Jared has impressed the girl, he makes sure to follow the third rule: RETREAT. He strings along the girl for so long that she cant help but be attracted to him. And just when shes realized that shes met a really great, talented guy, he says, “I have to go,” or, “Hey, my buddies are waiting for me.” By doing this, he ensures that the girl needs him, more than he needs her. In the process, shell give him her phone number and ask him for a date, in a desperate attempt to see him again. He expertly becomes the pursued, not the pursuernow thats a magic trick! This is all part of the art of impressing women, an art that takes time to master but once youve done it once, the next few times are easy. Naturally, it does require that you actually show the girl your talent in action, of course; saying youre a great cook and then not being able to describe what you do accurately, or not be able to cook for her at all, will only make you look foolish and lose the girl quicker than you say, “Gone.” But now, as a single guy or a guy looking for a new relationship, you have the chance to work on the skills you have, however small they may be, and do something truly magical to impress women. Look at your time of single status not as a loss, but as an opportunity, to become a truly one-of-a-kind guy. And once youve figured out what your talent or talents is, make the most of them. Learn how to lead girls along with your talent;like Jared, create opportunities out of them. If you know how to cook, ask the girl what her favorite plate is. Say she answers, “Penne a la vodka.” You should respond, “Really? Wow, thats cool, because I make a great dish of Penne a la vodka.” Shell naturally want to see how you make it, so you can answer, “Yeah, its too bad I have to be leaving, you wont get to try it just yet.” Dont ask her to come over to your house to try your cookinginstead, be desireless and retreat. Make HER ask to come to your house or apartment to try out your cooking. That way youre making HER the desired one, and YOU the empowered one. And when you “hold the cards,” you can get anything you want. ANYTHING. Its all about learning your talentsand knowing how to use your talents. Self Storage Security - The Protective Umbrella

They will do the very things that damage, not only your property, but also your company’s good name. But take heart: With proper planning and preparation, you can protect yourself and put the perpetrators in their place–hopefully the county lockup. Put yourself and your facility under the protective umbrella called “security.” Maybe that conjures up pictures of armed guards, guard dogs and razor-wire fencing. Or, perhaps your imagination runs toward the cunning, clandestine, ultra-high-tech tools of the super spies in the movies and on television. For the self storage industry, the reality of the situation involves the use of proven tools that will strike a good balance between choosing and using appropriate products, and getting a good return on the investment. The tools exist to provide solid security and add tremendous promotional power to your marketing program. Take Larry Lurker, for example. He’s the kind of guy who hangs around trouble. Or maybe he carries it with him wherever he goes. If he’s lounging around the boat dock, things disappear–a trolling motor one day, a depth finder the next. Larry knows the guy who can move the merchandise at the flea market. Control Who Uses Your Property To handle Larry, build a fence. A good layout of your facility with proper fencing cures the problems that come with most casual theft. Once you add automatic, computer-controlled gates, you have the convenience of complete access control without having to have personnel on hand to watch who’s coming and going. In the traditional self-storage and RV-storage configuration, a fortress-style construction stands as the strongest defense. Put solid buildings all the way around your perimeter. If the parcel does not lend itself to that type of construction, then start planning early for fencing, convenient gated access and egress, and the software package that allows you to control the access. Management programs tell the access programs which tenant codes should be valid. If a tenant goes delinquent, they’re automatically locked out after a user-defined grace period. Planning for security should be integrated at the architectural and engineering-design phase. Since that is not always practical, especially for older and existing facilities, good advice from experts helps. Add Security for More Profit and Less Liability Security for the self-storage industry has become more sophisticated and much more of a competitive tool. “We’re seeing a lot of owners use individual unit door alarms, video surveillance and especially office security displays,” comments Tim Calvin, owner of Calvin Access Control Systems in Columbus, Ohio. “It’s not unusual to see owners who are building a $2 million to $4 million facility spend $80,000 to $120,000 to protect the property and be able to advertise that they have security.” Individual-unit door alarms nail Robbie Ripoff and his type. They pose as good tenants, but use their access privileges to cruise storage lots for loose items or force entry into neighboring units. A security contact tied to alarm software puts a stop to that. Any intrusion to an armed unit causes an alarm, which can be local or tied to a central monitoring station. Alarm and access-control software validates a tenant code entered at the entry point, such as a main gate or entry door. A good code disarms the unit’s alarm. Any other attempt to open an armed unit will sound an alarm, usually a loud siren. Law-enforcement officers will tell you there are two things thieves do not like: noise and lights that call attention to their actions. Who knows the motivation for Vickie Vandal? She may damage property and equipment by accident. She and others like her may be venting anger or just “having fun.” No matter the reason, vandalism can be expensive for an unprepared owner. Kirt Grant, a partner in Lake Powell Boat and RV Storage in Page, Ariz., related a phrase he heard at a seminar: “Deter crime if you can, but if you can’t prevent it, you need to catch it.” Grant has an open storage facility with controlled gates. As an added deterrent, and as a tool to keep an eye on activities, he added a complete video-surveillance system with cameras, camera-control devices and a professional time-lapse recorder. The threat has increased. Customers are more security conscious than ever. Whether it’s our trio of bad guys, or you have your own cast of characters bent on doing you and your company harm, the tools to protect you are readily available. Start planning for your protective umbrella early. Use security tools for peace of mind. Show them off to your customers to make your facility even more impressive and appealing to prospects. Are You Fickle in Love?

By Dr. Dorothy McCoy Are you in love with love? How long does it take for you to fall in love? A recent research study suggested that we could fall in love in 8 minutes. Dr. Helen Fisher of Rutgers University, says, I think that you can fall in love with somebody in much less than 8 minutes of conversation but 8 minutes will do. I think we are an animal that was built for love at first sight. How often do you fall in love? Some personality types adore the new love chemistry high and they fall in and out of love with abandon. Are you enamored (addicted?) with the experience? Since we are not perfect creatures we were given a chemical to mask our new love interests faults. Researcher, Dr. Robert Friar, assures us this is true, “Falling in love involves Phenylethylamine or PEA, which causes a person to be less likely to be aware of the faults of the other person. Ask yourself, would you fall in love with someone who throws his underwear on the floor if you were not highly inebriated by amour? Serotonin and dopamine, two mood neurochemicals create much of the decidedly pleasurable love intoxication that overwhelms us. Do people who fall in love rapidly and habitually have more of the love neurochemicals? We really dont know. Backgammon - Three Basic Strategies

You need to be able to switch strategies instantly as the course of the game unfolds. The Blockade This involves building a 6-thick wall of checkers, or at least as thick as you can manage, to block in the opponent’s checkers that are on your 1-point. This is considered to be the most suitable strategy at the start of the game. You can build the wall anywhere between your 11-point and your 2-point and then shuffle it into your home board as the game progresses. The Blitz This involves closing your home board as quick as possible while keeping your opponent on the bar. For example, if your opponent rolls an early 2 and moves one checker from your 1-point to your 3-point and you then roll a 5-5, you can play 6/1 6/1 8/3 8/3. Your opponent is now in serious trouble because they have 2 checkers on the bar and you have closed half your inner board! The Backgame This where you have 2 or more anchors in your opponent’s home board. (An anchor is a point occupied by at least 2 of your checkers.) It should be used when you are significantly behind as it much improves your chances. The best places for anchors are towards your opponent’s lower point and either on adjacent points or with a single point in between. Timing is crucial for an effective backgame: after all, there’s no point having 2 nice anchors and a solid wall in your own home board if you are then forced to dismantle this straight away, while your opponent is getting their checkers home, because you don’t have other spare checkers to move! In this case, it’s better to have checkers on the bar so that you can preserve your position until your opponent gives you a chance to hit, so it can be a good idea to try and get your opponent to hit them in this case! Some people go for a backgame from the outset, but this is a mistake. The backgame is a losing strategy: it’s just that this strategy makes you less likely to lose if you are already losing!
